Donald Miles

FOREST — Donald R. Miles, of Fort Myers, Fla., died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012, in Fort Myers. He was 84.
Born July 17, 1927 in Klondike, Ill., he was a son of Charles Oliver and Mary Glazier Miles. He married Mary Ruth Hiett on June 4, 1950 and she preceded him in death on Aug. 26, 1997. He married Nada Colt, of Fort Myers, in 2006 and she survives.
Mr. Miles also is survived by sons, Bruce and Kim (Hugus) Miles, Granville; and Kevin and Jeri (Johnson) Miles, Orlando, Fla.; a daughter, Deborah Morgan, Lancaster; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Edith Smith, rural Sumner, Ill.
He also was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Ogle, Carl, Charles, Lyle, Lewis and Doris Lee; Irene Gray, Lucille Waggoner, Catherine Montgomery, Bernideen Chaney and Crystal Miles.
Mr. Miles graduated from Lawrenceville, Illinois High School and joined the Navy in World War II. He was employed by Marathon Oil Company, Findlay, and worked there until his retirement.
He was a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church.
A memorial service will held at 11 a.m. May 22 at Hueston Cemetery, 16897 CR 20, Forest. A time of fellowship and remembrance will follow the service.
Clark Shields Funeral Home, Forest, is in charge of arrangements.
