Donald L. Heinlen, of Bucyrus, died Monday, May 7, 2012 at his residence. He was 86.
Born July 11, 1925 in Nevada, he was a son of the late John and Effie (Starner) Heinlen. He married Mary Ann Shafer June 28, 1958, and she died Feb. 9, 1999.
Mr. Heinlen is survived by four children, Ann (Dave) Adkins, Stephan (Kelly Dennison) Heinlen, Thomas Heinlen and Sue (Jim) Mee, all of Bucyrus; six grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Dan Heinlen.
Mr. Heinlen graduated from Mt. Zion High School in 1944. He worked for Galion Iron Works and Galion Komatsu Dresser.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Bringman-Clark Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky, with the Rev. Dave Bliss officiating. Interment will follow in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Upper Sandusky Veterans Color Guard. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today and 12-1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Home Care Matters, in care of the Bringman-Clark Funeral Home, 226 E.
