Voters overwhelmingly passed Angeline School and Industries’ 2.95-mill renewal levy.
According to unofficial results from the Wyandot County Board of Elections, 5,251 votes (70.39 percent) were cast for the levy and 2,209 (29.61 percent) against.
“On behalf of all of us, we are very grateful,” Angeline Superintendent Todd Dilley said. “We just got wonderful support.”
This 2.95-mill levy originally was passed in 1996 and has been renewed twice by voters for five year periods. On Tuesday, voters renewed the levy for a continuing period.
The levy generates $1,078,000 a year. The money is used to provide services to Wyandot County residents with developmental disabilities.
“Wyandot County’s support of kids and adults with developmental disabilities is outstanding and we appreciate it,” Dilley said.
The levy is a renewal and is not additional money. The owner of a $100,000 home will continue to pay $76.09 per year or approximately 21 cents per day.
