Gary Book earned a second term and will be joined by James Morris for his first term on the Upper Sandusky Exempted Village Board of Education.
Book received 2,617 votes in Wyandot County, with Morris picking up 2,199. Tia Rice finished third with 1,300 votes.
“I just want to do what’s best for the kids and try to stay with the smart and do what’s best for the school,” Book said.

Morris, the former Wyandot County Engineer, is no stranger to public office, and he too said he looks forward to serving the people.
“It’s an honor,” he said. “I just hope I have something to give to the local school district and I’ll be able to go ahead. I don’t have any personal agenda but to continue on the school board’s work.”
Morris will take the seat of Hannah Kotterman, who opted not to seek re-election.
Russell Lee, Mark McQuown and Neil Kinley have terms on the board for another two years.
Morris said voters could not have made a bad choice on Tuesday night.
“I think all three candidates would have been excellent choices,” he said. “I appreciate the citizens of the Upper Sandusky school district for selecting me.”
Book said although times might be challenging in the future, he is confident it will work out.
“We take it one day at a time,” he said. “I think it’s going to be difficult and things will change, but God will take care of it.”
