Alissa Paolella

The Daily Chief-Union today welcomed back staff writer Alissa Paolella.
Paolella, who left the Upper Sandusky newspaper in 2009 to complete her education, graduated from Ohio University last weekend with a bachelor’s degree in news writing and editing. She also earned a certificate in women and gender studies.
“I’m excited to be back,” Paolella said. “I’m still in the process of moving, but I’m excited to see everybody and start making some contacts with people that I haven’t seen in a long time.”
Paolella joins city editor Chanda Neely, sports editor Lonnie McMillan and staff writer Patrick Massara in the newsroom. With the additional staff, the DC-U is committed to providing more local news coverage. Readers are encouraged to call, write or send emails with story ideas.
“We’re happy to have Alissa back,” publisher Jeff Barnes said. “With the amount of time she worked for us in the years before and having someone that’s already knowledgeable with all our areas of coverage, we are going to be able to provide a quicker response to having more local news coverage.”
A 2005 graduate of Mohawk High School, Paolella served as an intern at the DC-U before joining the staff full-time in 2007.
Email the dcueditor@dailychiefunion.com or call the newsroom at 419-294-2331 with story ideas. Read online at www.dailychiefunion.com, follow us on Twitter @DailyChief and like us on Facebook.
