Mohawk BOE approves personnel changes

SYCAMORE — The Mohawk Board of Education held a brief special meeting Monday night in regard to personnel for the 2012-13 school year.
The board issued Julio Rendon a one-year teaching contract as a .76 Spanish teacher for the 2012-13 school year.
“We needed to get (Rendon) hired, so we went ahead and held a special meeting to get that done,” Superintendent Ken Ratliff said. “We just needed to find the right person and because it is a part-time position, it was a little harder to fill.”
The board also approved a supplemental contract for Rendon to be the Spanish club adviser.
A resolution also was passed to approve supplemental contracts for Amanda Baker, junior high assistance track coach; Erik Baker, junior high boys track coach; Amy Gillig, junior high football cheerleader adviser; Brent Konkle, assistant high school track coach; Lori Kalb, junior class adviser; Tyler Long, seventh grade girls basketball coach; and Brad Weaver, eighth grade girls basketball coach.
The board accepted Konkle’s resignation as assistant baseball coach, effective July 30.
