Less than one year after celebrating its grand opening, Heritage IGA in Upper Sandusky has announced plans to close.
“We just weren’t doing the sales,” owner Dave Kelch said.
Kelch said the store will begin operating on reduced hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday and will close for business Saturday, May 26. Also beginning Sunday, all items in the store will be discounted.
“Everything will be 20 percent off,” Kelch said.
The store at 415 W. Church St., Upper Sandusky, opened last June and has 50 employees.
Kelch also owns the Heritage IGA at 479 E. Market St., Tiffin.
“I appreciate everyone who patronized us,” Kelch said. “The people that shop here are very upset, but we invite them to come to our store in Tiffin where we are going to have great deals as we did here (in Upper Sandusky).”
