Foster parents needed locally


The Wyandot County Department of Job and Family Services is looking for individuals interested in becoming foster parents.

“We’re always looking for more foster parents,” WCDJFS Executive Director Jason Fagan said. “For anyone interested in adopting, several adoptions actually begin as foster parents.”

Ohio foster parents must be at least 21 years of age and must participate in preservice training. Criminal background checks, medical statements, child abuse history and home safety and fire inspections also are performed on all applicants.

There are currently 11 children from Wyandot County in agency custody in either foster care or residential facilities.
