Wharton man reports metal theft


The Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of metal from a rural Wharton barn that was valued at $3,000 and as much as 1,000 pounds.

A rural Wharton man reported Monday morning someone stole weights from the front of his tractor.

He estimated the metal weighed anywhere from 900 to 1,000 pounds, according to a report by the WCSO.

More metal was taken from a smaller outbuilding on the same property, the report said.
