County FSA workers to attend training

Starting today, farmers can enroll in the new dairy Margin Protection Program, a voluntary program established by the 2014 farm bill.
The program provides financial assistance to participating farmers when the margin — the difference between the price of milk and feed costs — falls below the coverage level selected by the farmer.

The Wyandot County Farm Service Agency office will attend a training Wednesday and Thursday for the program. There also is training for procedures scheduled for Sept. 15 in Wooster. Appointments will be scheduled beginning the week of Sept. 22.

For more information, call the Wyandot County FSA office at 419-294-2127.
