County officials document foster care payments

The Wyandot County Board of Commissioners was slated to meet with county Treasurer Michelle Rife at 11 a.m. Thursday, but the meeting was canceled.
Commissioner Steve Seitz had no knowledge of what was to be discussed, but said the board expects to meet with Rife next week.
Also Thursday, commissioners’ secretary Sue Shrider documented a total of $4,883.40 granted to individual foster care parties during the month of August. The funds were distributed by the county Department of Job and Family Services, the agent through which the state of Ohio funds Wyandot County providers.
In other business, county Solid Waste Management District Director Jennifer Calvert submitted a request for the county to cover the expenses of a solid waste conference she will attend next month in Athens. Calvert estimates the trip will cost around $138. The request was approved by the board.
No other resolutions were voted on Thursday.
