Emily Droll, LaRue, and Stephen Becker, Bowling Green, exchanged wedding vows Saturday, April 14, 2012 at the Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey. The Rev. Tyron Tomson, of Columbus, officiated the ceremony, with assistance from the Revs. Nicholas Droll and Christopher Feeney.
The bride is a daughter of Jerry and Becky Droll, LaRue. The groom is a son of Roger and Anne Becker, Pemberville.
The bride wore a satin A-line halter dress with a lace overlay extending into an all-lace train with scalloped edges. It had pleaded and sequined accents and a rose pink accent piece at the bodice. She wore a veil fingertip-length scalloped lace edging to match the dress.
The groom wore a black tuxedo with a white vest and bow tie.
Kimberly Wittenmyer, Bowling Green, was the maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Dominique Simms, Gallup, N.M.; Amy Walton, Ann Arbor, Mich.; Melissa Halicki, Mason, Mich.; Katie Anderson, Upper Sandusky; and Alyssa Droll, sister-in-law of the bride, Delaware. The junior bridesmaid was Hannah Droll, cousin of the bride, Upper Sandusky. They wore tea-length rose pink satin A-line dresses with lace overlays, beginning at the bodice, and a sweetheart neckline.
Scott Becker, brother of the groom, Pemberville, was the best man.
Groomsmen were Chauncey Becker, cousin of the bride, Chesterfield, Ind.; Victor Lopez, Toledo; Denis Paquet, Pleasant Prairie, Wis.; and Pete Droll, Delaware, and Nate Droll, Columbus, both brothers of the bride.
Bernadette Lopez, godchild of the groom, Toledo, was the flower girl. Basil Lopez, godchild of the groom, Toledo, was the ring bearer.
Adam Lamberjack, Columbus, and Alex Lamberjack, Carey, both cousins of the bride, were the ushers.
The color scheme of the wedding was rose pink and lavender. Decorations included white, pink and purple Easter lilies, roses and tulips.
The processional was an instrumental of “O God Beyond All Praising.” The recessional was “Fanfare in D.” The instrumentalist was organist Robert McMahon.
Vocalists included James Burns, Eric Hite and Jerry Hiltman. Special music was performed by Regina Coeli, who sang “Magnificent in the Royal Tone.”
Readings were done by the Revs. Feeney and Droll.
There were 200 guests from Ohio, Illinois, Michigan, California, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Mexico, Kansas and Indiana. Leslie and Laila Johns, Upper Sandusky, registered guests.
A reception was held at the Masters’ Building at the Wyandot County Fairgrounds, Upper Sandusky.
The new Mrs. Becker is a 2005 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School and a 2008 graduate of Bowling Green State University. She is working toward a master’s degree from the University of Akron in couples and family counseling. She currently is an intern as a couples and family counselor.
Mr. Becker is a 1996 graduate of Eastwood High School and a 2000 graduate of BGSU, where he received a bachelor’s degree in education. In 2006, he received a master’s degree in education from BGSU. He is a teacher.
The couple currently lives at 831 Jefferson Drive, Bowling Green OH 43402.
