Riverdale prom Saturday

MOUNT BLANCHARD — The 2013 junior class of Riverdale High School will be presenting “Afterglow” Just a Dream” as the 2012 prom theme. Prom 2012 will be taking place from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. Saturday in the high school cafeteria.
The junior class will be introducing two newly-organized events during the evening — the walk through and the grand march. During the walk through from 6:45-7:15 p.m., the junior class will be inviting parents and community members to walk through the cafeteria to view the decorations. The parents and community members will then proceed directly to the gymnasium and take their seats for the grand march, which will be held from 7:15–8 p.m., giving parents and community members an opportunity to watch as the juniors and seniors, along with their dates promenade across the gym floor, much like the red carpet. Each couple will be announced.
After the grand march has concluded, students will be able to return to the gymnasium for other pictures until 8:15 p.m. if necessary. At 8:15 p.m., all parents and community members will be asked to leave the building so that the students can dance the night away.
