Editor’s note: The following letters to U.S. military servicemen and women were submitted via email to run in The Daily Chief-Union’s special section for Santa letters from area children. The letters were misplaced and failed to appear in the special section that ran Dec. 22.

Dear Servicemen,
Thank you for protecting our country so we can be safe in our homes on Christmas.  Thank you for protecting us so we can write what we want, say what we want, and be able to believe in whatever religion we want.
