Mooney’s artwork displayed at the University of Findlay
FINDLAY — The artwork of Brandon Mooney, a junior graphic design major, was displayed during the University of Findlay’s annual Juried Student Art Exhibition. Mooney exhibited his visual communication piece titled “Gene Roddenberry.”
Mooney, a 2009 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School, is a son of Tammy and David Mooney, of Nevada.
All students are invited to submit pieces for consideration in the show. Only the best are chosen for inclusion.
Penwell wins NFIB award
COLUMBUS — Riverdale High School senior Veronica Penwell, of Forest, is the winner of a $1,000 award from the National Federation of Independent Business Young Entrepreneur Foundation.
Penwell is one of six Ohio high school seniors to the scholarship. The program designed to reward and encourage entrepreneurial talents among high school students.
Sprang wins Walter award
TIFFIN — Caitlin Sprang is the Wyandot County recipient of the 23rd annual Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Award, sponsored by the Ohio Educational Service Center Association.
The Upper Sandusky High School senior received a plaque at an awards luncheon recently held in Lewis Center, where an outstanding student from each of Ohio’s 88 counties was honored. She also was presented with a cash award from the North Central Ohio Educational Service Center at this luncheon.
Sprang was chosen from among the high schools from Wyandot County. She is a daughter of Mike and Vicki Sprang, of Upper Sandusky.
