U.S. Army Pvt. 2nd Class Anthony Jones (in uniform), of Nevada, has his paratrooper wings pinned on by his grandfather, Charlie Jones, during a recent graduation ceremony held at the U.S. Army Airborne School in Fort Benning, Ga. Charlie Jones, of Harpster, graduated from the same program in January 1965. “It was one of the greatest honors that I’ve ever had,” Charlie Jones said. “I was surprised. I didn’t know he was going to ask me to pin his wings on him. He came forward in front of the whole battalion and had me pin his wings on him. That just made my day to be able to pin his wings on him 40-something years later. It was really an honor.”
