Following a 6-0 victory against Carey to clinch the Midland Athletic League championship, Mohawk senior Nikki Kieffer read a statement in a memorial service for classmate Audrey Perkins, who died in an auto accident Tuesday morning, and Gary Cooper, father of senior Ashley Cooper, who passed away in March. An “In memory of” balloon was released and a tree was planted in their honor, before many stayed after to comfort one another.
