Wyandot SWCD holding photography contest

The Wyandot Soil and Water Conservation District office and its board of supervisors is inviting all amateur photographers to enter its 2013 photography contest.
The contest is open to all non-professional photographers. Submitted photos must be taken at a location in Wyandot County; however, the photographer does not need to reside in the county.
A nonprofessional photographer is defined as an individual who does not earn or has not earned the majority of his or her income from photography. The contest is not open to any Wyandot SWCD supervisor, staff or immediate family member.
There is no entry fee.
Categories will be offered in youth and adult visions.
Those ages 18 and older may enter the adult division in scenery, wildlife or country life categories.
A youth division is offered for those ages 17 and younger. Categories include wildlife, such as local birds, insects, spiders, reptiles, amphibians or mammals; scenery, such as outdoor photos of natural resources; and agriculture.
Entrants may submit photos for any category, but only one category may be entered for each print submitted. There is no limit on the number of prints that may be submitted.
All entries must be submitted in either a 4-by-6-inch or 5-by-7-inch format. Entries may be in color or black and white. Digital photos must be submitted as prints, along with a digital image on a CD.
Judging will be based on relevance to conservation, creativity, photographic quality and impact.
Names of entrants should be placed on the back of each photo submitted.
A first-place monetary award will be given in each category for adults and youth.
All photos and entry forms must be submitted to Wyandot Soil and Water Conservation District by 4 p.m. Aug. 16. Prints may be delivered in person or mailed to the SWCD office, 97 Houpt Drive, Suite A, Upper Sandusky OH 43351.
Those who mail their prints should take appropriate actions to prevent any damage to the photos.
Wyandot SWCD will be unable to return photos, so entrants are asked not to submit negatives. All entrants must agree any photograph they submit to the competition may be used for promotional and marketing purposes related to the mission of the conservation district. Credit will be given to the photographer.
For more information or an entry form, call 419-294-2311 or stop by the Wyandot SWCD office at the address listed above.
