FSA director shares program dates

Wyandot County Farm Service Agency Director Charlotte Schmachtenberger recently announced dates to remember for area farmers and producers involved in FSA programs.
Schmachtenberger said in a press release those affected by the dates should post the list where they can refer to it later.
Dates to remember this month include a conservation reserve program sign-up and meeting at Gottfried Nature Center, Upper Sandusky, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 15; CRP general sign-up period starts May 20; Memorial Day holiday, FSA offices closed, May 27; deadline to apply for 2012 commodity loans and loan deficiency payment on feed grains, soybeans and pulse crops, May 31.
June 3 is the deadline to sign up for this year’s average crop revenue election program, also known as ACRE, while June 7 is the deadline to sign up for the 2011 supplemental revenue assistance payments or SURE program. The deadline for the 45th general CRP sign-up is June 14, followed on June 15 by the county committee nomination period beginning for LAA 3, which consists of Jackson, Mifflin, Pitt, Antrim and Marseilles townships.
The county FSA office will be closed July 4 in observance of Independence Day. The deadline for this year’s crop certification and the 2012 ACRE production is July 15.
The deadline for nominations for the county committee election for LAA 3 is Aug. 1, followed by the deadline to sign up for the direct and counter cyclical program Aug. 2.
FSA offices will be closed Sept. 2 in observance of Labor Day.
The deadline to certify 2014 fall seeded crops is Dec. 15.
