Paul Hord, of Upper Sandusky, rocks out to Shinedown’s “Burning Bright” on Wednesday night during the third Upper Idol karaoke contest at Shotzy’s Bar and Grille. Hord later sang Incubus’ “Drive” en route to a first-place finish. Also advancing to the finals Wednesday were Kevin Glick, of Tiffin, and Shirley Smith, of Upper Sandusky. Upper Idol will continue at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Shotzy’s. There is no fee to participate and the grand prize is a trip to Las Vegas.
