Caitlin Sprang will be having her senior vocal recital at the Star Theatre at 2 p.m. June 10.
Sprang has performed at high school and local theatres many times and has won the talent portion of the Miss Teen Popcorn Pageant for her vocal performance, was runner-up for “Lights, Camera, Amateurs” in 2009 and won “Lights, Camera, Amateurs” at the Palace Theatre Marion in 2010.
She has participated in many master classes that have allowed her to work with the casts of the national tours such as “The Phantom of the Opera” and “Jersey Boys” when they toured in Cleveland. She was last seen locally as Sandy in the USHS production of “Grease” this spring.
Sprang has performed for charity events, teas and wedding banquets. After a rigorous audition process, she was accepted into her top choice of schools and this fall will be attending the Westminster College of the Arts at Rider University, which is located 40 minutes outside New York City in the suburb of Princeton, to study musical theatre and earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
