BUCYRUS — The Bucyrus Little Theatre recently announced the cast of its upcoming production of “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.”
This version is adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher, from the novella “Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde,” by Robert Louis Stevenson, and is directed by Jonny Price. The show will beheld at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 12, 19 and 20 and 2:30 p.m. Oct. 14 and 21 at the Little Theatre, 130 Songer Ave.
The cast of the show includes Beth Campbell, of Marion, as nine different characters including the police doctor, a parlor maid and an old woman; Michael Schoeppner, of Bucyrus, as first man, Gabriel Utterson and Edward Hyde; Jim Hunter, of Shelby, as six different characters, including Edward Hyde, O. F. Sanderson and Sir Danvers Carew; Matt Johnson. of Bucyrus. as six characters, including Dr. H.K. Lanyon, Edward Hyde and surgical student; Mandy Wolber, of Findlay, as woman No. 2, young girl and Elizabeth Jelkes; and Jason Chandler, of Bucyrus, as Dr. Henry Jekyll.
It is a new and shocking version of the classic tale that contains adult themes. On the fog-bound streets of Victorian-era London, Henry Jekyll’s experiments with exotic “powders and tinctures” have brought forth his other self, Edward Hyde, a sensualist and villain, free to commit the sins Jekyll is too civilized to comprehend.
The box office will open Oct. 1 for sale of tickets to the general public. Adult tickets are $15 and students are $10.
