I remember in the winter of 1945 at the age of 4 and 1/2 (probably my first true recall of anything) driving to the Toledo Train Station with Dad and Mom to pick up my Godfather whom I knew as Uncle “Bud.” I remember him in a uniform and with a huge bag (duffle). Mom cried a lot, but I knew she was so happy to see him, and they were happy tears. I had no idea at the time where he had been or what he had been doing. I only knew he was gone a long time and wore a uniform like I had seen in pictures. (It was not until I was much older that I knew he had served in the US Navy in the Pacific Theater during WW II aboard an aircraft carrier.) God bless Uncle “Bud” and may he RIP. Steven

this is a very good picture and i also work with the boys mother at walmart and it was brought to my attention that his name is spelled wrong its not woodhuff its Woodruff
