COLUMBUS – A few uncharacteristically bad holes got Riverdale freshman Andrew Kuenzli on the first day of the Division III state golf tournament Saturday at the Ohio State University Scarlet Course in Columbus. Kuenzli shot a 20-over 92 and was tied for 53rd place of 72 golfers after one round.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale defeated Arcadia, 42-7, on Friday to improve to 5-3. It is the first time the Falcons have won at least five games in a season under coach Mark Frey, who is in his fourth year with the program.

BUCYRUS — Buckeye Central wrapped up a second-straight perfect season in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference with a 25-12, 25-9, 25-17 victory Thursday night at Wynford.

NORTH ROBINSON — Colonel Crawford finished in sole possession of fourth place in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference by taking a 25-20, 22-25, 25-17, 25-22 victory against Upper Sandusky on Thursday night.

RAWSON — Three different Riverdale players scored as the Falcons extended their winning streak to four with a 3-0 victory at Cory-Rawson on Thursday. Matthew Mason, Coby Miller and Taylor Bacon all scored goals.

Brett Montgomery has been playing golf for 12 years — about 80 percent of his life. The 15-year-old Upper Sandusky sophomore ran away with a district title shooting par last weekend at Red Hawk Run Golf Course to qualify for the state tournament.

Megan Hensel’s 50th goal of her career was the game-winner as Upper Sandusky concluded its regular season with a 2-1 victory against Edison on Wednesday night.

The Upper Sandusky Lady Wildcats U10 soccer team finished its season with a 5-2-1 record in the Black Swamp League. SYCAMORE — Sycamore Village Council reviewed bids for the department’s 1981 ladder truck Tuesday night and accepted an offer. Tom Bishop, a private citizen from Tiffin, offered $4,012 for the truck.
