Ley leads Redmen to victory

SYCAMORE — Trevor Ley held Mohawk to five hits and Bucyrus picked up its first Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball victory, 6-2, on Wednesday. Ley (2-1) struck out seven and walked three for the Redmen (2-3, 1-2 N10).

Eagles stay unbeaten in BVC

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale committed seven errors, and Liberty-Benton rolled to a 16-2 victory in a battle of unbeaten Blanchard Valley Conference baseball teams Wednesday. The Eagles (4-3, 3-0 BVC) scored 10 times in the first inning.

Liberty-Benton routs Riverdale

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Emma Grubinski had five hits and five RBIs and Liberty-Benton ran away with a 29-5 victory against Riverdale on Wednesday in a Blanchard Valley Conference softball game. The Eagles (4-3, 2-1 BVC) scored 16 times in the third inning.

Colonel Crawford stuns Mohawk

SYCAMORE – Colonel Crawford’s struggling offense exploded Tuesday to help the Eagles pick up their first baseball victory of the season, 10-4, at Mohawk. The Eagles (1-5, 1-4 Northern 10 Athletic Conference) came in having scored only six runs in five games so far but found success right away against the Warriors with three runs in the first inning.

Carey holds off Mohawk, 7-4

SYCAMORE — Carey scored three times in each of the first two innings and then held off Mohawk, 7-4, in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball game Monday. The Blue Devils (5-0, 4-0 N10) scored another run in the fifth inning, while the Warriors (4-4, 2-3 N10) scored all four of their runs in the bottom of the seventh, leaving one runner on base when the final out was recorded.

Mohawk girls win home tri

SYCAMORE — Mohawk’s girls topped Colonel Crawford, 63-51.5, for first place in a tri-meet Monday at Mohawk. Seneca East was third with 40.5 points. Colonel Crawford’s boys edged Seneca East, 68-64, with Mohawk third with 24 points.

SYCAMORE — Blayc Hacker shut out Mohawk for the second straight game, and Hailey Niederkohr helped provide just enough offense in a 2-0 victory in Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball play Monday in Sycamore. Hacker (4-0) gave up five hits and one walk with seven strikeouts.
