Unbeaten Buckeye Central tops Upper Sandusky at Cranberry

NEW WASHINGTON — Five of Buckeye Central’s six players shot in the 50s in a 214-249 victory against Upper Sandusky in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference girls golf match Monday at Cranberry Hills Golf Course. Elizabeth Heydinger paved the way for the Buckettes (5-0, 5-0 N10) with a 51 to earn medalist honors.

Row leads Carey in loss to New Riegel

NEW RIEGEL — McKenzie Row had 14 kills, 11 digs and three aces, but it was not enough as Carey remained winless with a 17-25, 25-20, 25-13, 25-17 loss to New Riegel on Monday night. Sadie Arend had six kills and five blocks, while Alaina Tiell finished with five kills.

Falcons hold off Pirates

CONTINENTAL — Riverdale dominated possession and shots on goal and edged Continental, 4-3, in a nonconference girls soccer match Saturday at Continental. The Pirates (1-1) and Alex Hoeffel made the most of only four shots on goal, scoring three times, but it was not quite enough.

Warriors win 2nd straight ‘Hoover Bowl’

SYCAMORE — The Mohawk volleyball team won the “Hoover Bowl IV” championship and successfully defended its title from last year by beating both Old Fort and Edison in straight sets on Saturday. The Warriors, coached by Eric Hoover, beat the Chargers, coached by brother Sean Hoover, 25-22, 25-20, and the Stockaders, coach by mother Nancy Hoover, 25-18, 25-19.

Riverdale wins 3rd straight

MOUNT BLANCHARD — The Riverdale volleyball team won its third straight match with a 25-23, 25-14, 25-15 victory against Bucyrus on Saturday. The Falcons (3-1) now have tripled their win total from all of last season.
