ATTICA — Wynford will host Crestline in the sectional semifinals of the Division IV Seneca East district volleyball tournament at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 16. With a win, the Royals will travel to No. 2 seed Monroeville in the sectional final Oct. 18.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale took a two-goal lead early in the second half and then held off Kenton the rest of the way for a 2-1 win in a non-conference girls soccer matchup on Saturday. Riverdale (8-4-2) controlled play for almost the entire first half, keeping the ball in the Kenton end of the field and taking a 1-0 lead 18:44 into the game when Hanna Breidenbach scored off an assist from Brooke Kuenzli.

Van Buren clinched a share of the boys North Central Ohio Soccer Association title with a 7-0 victory at Upper Sandusky on Saturday. The Black Knights (13-2, 4-1 NCOSA) will share the championship with Riverdale (6-4-3, 3-1 NCOSA) if the Falcons beat Cory-Rawson on Thursday night.

Riverdale’s Grace Wetherill (15) leaps to try to block an attack from an Upper Scioto Valley player Saturday in the Ridgemont Invitational. The Falcons lost to Kenton in two sets but picked up their fourth win of the season by beating the Rams.

Mohawk led area volleyball teams with a No. 2 seed an a bye to the sectional finals during district draws held Sunday. The Warriors (17-2) will host No. 6 seed Toledo Christian (9-5) on Oct. 18.

CAREY — Buckeye Central earned a sweep, 25-15, 25-14, 25-20, over Carey in Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball action Saturday. McKenzie Row led the Blue Devils (8-11, 7-7 N10) with nine kills and 11 digs, while Bailey Tanner had five kills and Sadie Arend and Alaina Tiell four each.

FOSTORIA — Freshman Sarah Reinhart won another race as Carey’s girls finished second in the Black Division of the Fostoria Boosters Invitational on Saturday. Reinhart finished in 22:05.34, beating Northwood senior Trinity Fowler by almost six seconds.

MARION — Upper Sandusky’s girls were 11th and the boys 18th in the Harding Invitational on Saturday in Marion. The Rams girls scored 297 points. Jonathan Alder won, 91-104, over Centerburg. The Rams boys had 490 points. Ashland edged Shelby, 41-45.

Riverdale’s boys earned a No. 5 seed and a first-round bye in the Division III Tiffin Columbian district during soccer draws held Sunday. The Falcons (6-4-3) will play at 5 p.m. Oct. 17 against the winner of No. 2 Woodmore (13-1) and No. 12 Old Fort (3-11), with the better-seeded team hosting.

BUCYRUS — Sydney Stuckman had seven kills and four aces to lead Upper Sandusky to a 25-18, 25-15, 25-18 victory against Bucyrus in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball match Saturday. Kenedi Hayden, Reagan Ward and Lily Gibson had four kills apiece, while Ella Orians had three in a balanced attack for the Rams (4-16, 4-10 N10).
