Stuckman leads Rams in loss

McCOMB — Sydney Stuckman had nine kills, but Upper Sandusky was swept by small-school volleyball power McComb 25-12, 25-23, 25-20 on Saturday at McComb. Jenna Kurtz and Emily Hill added six kills each, and Reagan Ward finished with five for the Rams (0-1).

TIFFIN — Led by Gabby Johnson’s 96, the Wynford girls golf team took seventh place among 13 teams Friday in the Tiffin Invitational at Seneca Hills Golf Club. Ashland dominated the field with a 308, with second-place Shelby 55 strokes back with a 363. The Royals shot a 424, while Mohawk came in 11th with a 487.

Freshman gets only win for Upper

Freshman Lauren Schoenberger remained undefeated but the Upper Sandusky girls tennis team dropped a 4-1 decision to Edison on Thursday. Playing No. 3 singles, Schoenberger picked up a 6-3, 6-2 victory against Alli Vogus for the only win for the Rams (1-2).

Galion wins showdown with Upper

GALION — A state qualifier as a team a year ago, Galion defeated Upper Sandusky 164-172 in a boys golf dual Thursday at Galion Country Club. The Tigers (2-0) got a pair of 39s from Matt McMullen and Spencer Keller to match Upper Sandusky’s Brett Montgomery for medalist honors.

Mckain Miller shoots 34 to lift Devils over Eagles

FOSTORIA — Mckain Miller medaled with a 1-under-par 34 to lead Carey to a 164-199 win over Colonel Crawford in its Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys golf opener Thursday at Lakeland Golf Course. Miller birdied the par-2 No. 7 and otherwise filled out his scorecard with pars. Ethan Tanner and Brayden Miller both shot 43s, and Kole Phillips had a 44. Carter Frederick (45) and Peyton Young (51) had scores that did not count toward the team total.

Buckeye Central defeats Mohawk to move to 2-0

NEW WASHINGTON — Buckeye Central moved to 2-0 in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference by defeating Mohawk 171-182 in its N10 boys golf opener Thursday at Cranberry Hills Golf Course. Reese Hannam medaled for the Warriors (0-1, 0-1 N10) with a 41 but it was not enough. Kael Margraf added a 45, and Austin Tusing and Owen England both shot 48s. Evan Kuenzli (50) and Zach King (51) also played.

Kuenzli medals to help Riverdale get past Ada

BLUFFTON — Andrew Kuenzli medaled with a 42 to lead the Riverdale golf team to a 194-211 victory against Ada on Thursday at Bluffton Golf Club. Trevor Hattery shot a 50, and Rease Haley and Curtis Tracy both shot 51s for the Falcons (4-4). Ben Riddle (55) and Tyler Clark (61) also played.
