MORRAL — Jade Stuckman scored 15 points as Wynford cruised to a 61-28 victory against Ridgedale to open Northern 10 Athletic Conference girls basketball play Tuesday night. Gretchen Harris added 10 points, Sarah Ogden scored nine points, and Tara Zinser finished with eight points for the Royals (2-2, 1-0 N10).

NORTH ROBINSON — Bailee Daughenbaugh scored 17 points to lead Mohawk to a 56-49 victory against Colonel Crawford in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference girls basketball opener Tuesday night. Daughenbaugh, who had just two points total in her team’s first two games, went 7 of 11 from the field, including 2 of 4 from 3-point range.

Ridgemont starts, finishes strong to defeat Mohawk

SYCAMORE — It was a late surge by the Ridgemont Golden Gophers that sealed the deal in their out-of-conference matchup with the Mohawk Warriors. In the season opener and with most of their roster back from a year ago, the Warriors would have liked a better start and finish, but the Golden Gophers built an early lead and closed the game on a 19-4 run to claim a 58-45 victory.

NORTH ROBINSON — Ryan Outland and Konner Holloway won events, and Upper Sandusky’s boys and girls finished second in a quad meet to open the swim season Monday at Colonel Crawford. The Eagles boys edged the Rams, 171-145, with Wynford just ahead of Tiffin Calvert, 15-12. Colonel Crawford’s girls were easy winners with 176 points, while the Rams were second over the Senecas, 106-83, with the Royals fourth with 18 points.

Carey bounces back with big win

KANSAS — Carey avoided a slow start its second time out in a 61-34 non-conference boys basketball win at Lakota on Monday. Cody Luzader scored 17 points as the Blue Devils grabbed control of the lead early and ran away with it.

Rams neutralize size of Tornadoes in win

TIFFIN — Upper Sandusky was at a size disadvantage on Saturday night at Tiffin Columbian, but the Rams made sure that did not also mean they were at a toughness disadvantage. The Rams held their own inside, forcing the Tornadoes into foul trouble and getting points at the basket and at the foul line in a 73-62 victory.
