Safety blotter: October 1, 2019

An officer assisted waste water plant employees and construction workers with a raccoon that was stuck on the 100 block of Indian Mill Drive the morning of Sept. 30. Amarjit Singh, Springfield Gardens, New York, was cited for commercial truck off route on Baker Court near Kroger Drive the morning of Sept. 30. Photos were taken of damage to road signs and tire tracks in the grass.

Safety blotter: September 30, 2019

A caller reported a suspicious person on Hicks Street near Sandusky Avenue the early morning of Sept. 27. The responding officer was unable to locate the person. John L. Jordan, Kenton, was arrested on a warrant from Upper Sandusky Municipal Court the morning of Sept. 27. Robert C. Harden, Marion, was arrested on a warrant out of Upper Sandusky Municipal Court the afternoon of Sept. 27.

Safety blotter: September 27, 2019

An Upper Sandusky woman reported a violation of a no-contact order in a domestic violence case, stating a man had texted her, called her from a relative’s phone and contacted her landlord the morning of Sept. 26. A report was sent to the municipal court and the responding officer advised the woman to get a civil protective order.

Safety blotter: September 26, 2019

A Tiffin woman struck a deer with her vehicle on North Sandusky Avenue near Village View Acres the night of Sept. 23. An Upper Sandusky man reported a neighbor had destroyed items hanging in his doorway on the 900 block of Eulalia Avenue the morning of Sept. 24. The neighbor, a Nevada man, initially denied any wrongdoing but admitted to it once confronted with video evidence. The Upper Sandusky man advised he wished to press charges and the Nevada man was advised criminal mischief summons will be sent through the mail.

Safety Blotter: September 25, 2019

An officer performed a K-9 assist with the Ohio State Highway Patrol on U.S. 23 northbound near CH 121 the evening of Sept. 22. Sherry M. Rodgers, Findlay, was arrested for theft at Walmart the evening of Sept. 22. An accomplice, James Riggs, Columbus, was charged with complicit to theft.

Safety blotter: September 24, 2019

A Sycamore woman reported her daughter had gone missing from the 100 block of West Ninth Street in Sycamore the evening of Sept. 20. The responding deputy checked with hospitals and friends. It was later learned the daughter had gone to her boyfriend’s house after having an argument with her parents.

Safety blotter: September 23, 2019

Officers assisted Wyandot County EMS with a man who fell from a ladder on the 300 block of West Johnson Street the morning of Sept. 20. An Upper Sandusky woman reported the theft of a car seat and car seat base from her yard on the 1000 block of North Warpole Street the morning of Sept. 20. A Tiffin woman reported her vehicle had been struck in the Walmart parking lot the morning of Sept. 20. A report was placed on file for insurance purposes.

Ethan R. O’Neil, Upper Sandusky, was cited for failure to keep assured clear distance ahead following a non-injury accident on the 700 block of North Sandusky Avenue the morning of Sept. 18. An Upper Sandusky man reported an attempted scam the afternoon of Sept. 18. A caller claiming to be a law enforcement agency was asking about the man’s bank balance and knew his Social Security number. The man was advised not to answer calls from numbers he is not familiar with and to not disclose personal information with unknown callers.

Safety blotter: September 20, 2019

Lorena Gutierrez-Morales, Upper Sandusky, was cited for no driver’s license and failure to control following a one-vehicle crash on the 200 block of South Sandusky Avenue the morning of Sept. 18. An officer assisted a Lima woman with a vehicle unlock on the 1600 block of East Wyandot Avenue the morning of Sept. 18.

Safety blotter: September 19, 2019

An Upper Sandusky man reported suspicious activity on his debit card the afternoon of Sept. 16. Videos from the time the card was used in Tiffin were sent to the police department and the man said he was willing to file charges. An Upper Sandusky man reported his son’s bike as stolen from the 100 block of West Johnson Street the afternoon of Sept. 16. It was an orange Mongoose Alert Mag Wheel mountain bike with 24 inch wheels and seven speeds. The bike was not registered with the department. A sample photo of the bike was added to the incident folder.
