A caller reported a Jeep parked illegally on the 100 block of South Sandusky Avenue the morning of Oct. 18. The responding officer made contact with the vehicle’s owner and the owner agreed to move the Jeep. 

Safety blotter: October 11, 2019

Aaron T. Coble, Staley, North Carolina, was cited for reckless operation off the roadway following a private property accident on the 1600 block of East Wyandot Avenue the early morning of Oct. 9. Smyth Janvier, Indianapolis, Indiana, was cited for parking where signs prohibit on Comfort Drive near East Wyandot Avenue the early morning of Oct. 9.

Safety blotter: October 10, 2019

An Upper Sandusky woman was walking her dog when it was hit by a car on East Wyandot Avenue near Pilot the early morning of Oct. 9. The dog, a young black lab, had an injury to its rear legs and was bleeding from its mouth and nose. The dog was dispatched at the owner’s request and the owner took it with her for burial.

Safety blotter: October 9, 2019

A caller reported a stop sign had been knocked down by farm equipment at the intersection of Chief and South Warpole streets the afternoon of Oct. 7. Contact was made with the driver, who advised he didn’t know he struck the stop sign and had been paying attention to getting around an electrical pole with a tile plow. Insurance information was collected and the street department replaced the stop sign.

Safety blotter: October 8, 2019

An Upper Sandusky man reported his stepson stole $45-50 in change and approximately six pills were missing from his prescription the evening of Oct. 4. The man advised he’d called his stepson to tell him he was no longer welcome on the property and he wanted to press charges. A caller reported a fuel tanker truck was parked on TH 60, uphill from the reservoir the evening of Oct. 4. The vehicle did not have permission from the city to park there and was advised to move. The company was advised to call the city about getting permission the following week.

Upper Sandusky Police Department An officer was dispatched to a private property accident at Bridgestone the early morning of Oct. 4. A semi truck struck a mailbox. Photos were taken of the damage and insurance companies were notified.

An officer was dispatched to a parking issue on the 400 block of North Seventh Street the morning of Oct. 2. The vehicle’s owner agreed to move the vehicle. Hellowee A. Parsell, Upper Sandusky, was cited for speed on Third Street near East Walker Street the morning of Oct. 2.

Safety blotter: October 2, 2019

A caller reported their dog got loose on the 300 block of West Bigelow Street the early morning of Oct. 1. The responding officer located the dog and the owner took control of it. The owner was warned for dog at large. Aaron W. Stansbery, Upper Sandusky, was cited for failure to yield while making a left turn, after a two-vehicle crash on East Wyandot Avenue near Pilot station the morning of Oct. 1. An Upper Sandusky man was transported from the scene via Life Flight with suspected serious injuries.
