Residents bring flooding concerns to Upper’s service committee meeting

Three residents of Shields Drive visited Upper Sandusky’s service committee meeting Monday evening to express concerns over severe flooding issues in their subdivision, and Wyandot County Commissioner Bill Clinger shared an update on a project that will attempt to alleviate that problem for area residents, a business and at least one farmer. Tanya Grandillo, Anna Patchett and Rhonda Morrison said they experienced some flooding last year, but Grandillo described this year’s problem as “horrendous.”

City deals with ‘lemon’

A piece of equipment described as a possible “lemon” by the city of Upper Sandusky’s streets supervisor will need additional repairs just after being returned from a shop for similar problems, and the city now plans to have its law director get involved. Streets supervisor Allen Boes said the city received its street sweeper back last Monday and the transmission overheated the following day.

Mohawk BOE approves new contract for propane

SYCAMORE — The Mohawk Local Schools Board of Education approved a contract with Heritage Cooperative to provide propane services to the district’s 18,000-gallon tank from Sept. 1 to March 31 on Monday night.
