Rain, rain go away

Amid the hustle and bustle of Saturday morning shoppers preparing for Easter, Walmart employees passed out Easter eggs to children ages 1-12. According to Walmart employee Terri Grubbs, the Upper Sandusky Walmart has been holding what she calls “Easter egg finds” since it opened 13 years ago.

Man rescued from vehicle stuck in high water Sunday

An Upper Sandusky man was rescued Sunday afternoon after his vehicle became disabled in high water. A Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office report states deputies were dispatched at 3:17 p.m. to the 7000 block of TH 29 in Tymochtee Township for a caller who said their vehicle was in the water and couldn’t get out.

Safety blotter: April 22, 2019

A deputy performed a standby on the 400 block of South Goodbread Street in Nevada for a Nevada man to remove personal items from a residence the afternoon of April 18. Items were removed without incident. A deputy performed a standby on the 300 block of South Pemberton Street in Sycamore the afternoon of April 18.

OLC parishioners retrace miracle path

Final resting place

CAREY — Our Lady of Consolation parishioners traced a familiar path Friday in remembrance of the miracle that turned the church into a shrine. Beginning Friday morning, nearly 100 people braved the cold and rain to walk the seven mile distance from Frenchtown to the steps of the Our Lady of Consolation Church, and they did it while carrying a large wooden cross on their shoulders.
