Auditions for the Star Players’ summer musical, “Willy Wonka,” will be Sunday and Wednesday at the Star Theater in Upper Sandusky. Star veteran Keitha Voorheis will direct the story of the world famous candy man and his quest to find an heir.

TIFFIN — The weeklong day camp with professionals from the Missoula Children’s Theatre of Missoula, Montana educators and volunteer group leaders will stage a production of “Aladdin” on stage at The Ritz. Limited openings remain for the first week, June 13-18, for students entering first and second grade in the fall.

TIFFIN — The final Friday Night Live at The Ritz of the season is 7:30 p.m. Friday at The Ritz Theatre, 30 S. Washington St., Tiffin. Artists include Americana singers and songwriters Tyler Chaffee and Weston Neidermier, of Attica; folk, rock, country and blues performers MaCabe, Starkey and Crockett, of Youngstown; and the Forward Motion Jazz Trio of Keith Barber, Jeff Taylor and Jeff Denney, of Fremont.

MARION — The Palace Cultural Arts Association, better known as the Marion Palace Theatre, has announced the entertainment schedule for the 2016-17 season, including seven local Palace productions, six touring artists on the main stage, five Fridays in the May Pavilion, three school matinee shows and three special events.

MARION — Director Clare Cooke announced she will hold auditions for the Palace Theatre’s summer production “Crazy for You” from 1-3 p.m. May 15 and May 22. Winner of three 1992 Tony Awards, including best musical, the show is set in the 1940s.

The Star Players production of “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” runs this weekend only with performances at 7:30 p.m. April 29 and 30 and 2 p.m. May 1 at the Star Theatre, 121 W. Wyandot Ave., Upper Sandusky.

MARION — The Palace Cultural Arts Association will present KANSAS in concert at 8 p.m. May 14 at the Marion Palace Theatre, 276 W. Center St., Marion. KANSAS became popular in the 1970s with hit singles such as “Carry On Wayward Son,” “Point of Know Return,” and “Dust in the Wind.”

The Star Players’ musical production of “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” opens April 29 and runs for one weekend only. Charles Groth, who has performed the show in other venues, returns to the stage in dual capacity as actor and director.

FINDLAY — For the 11th show of its inaugural season, the Marathon Center for the Performing Arts invites audiences to create “Broadway’s Next H!T Musical” at 7:30 p.m. May 5. Every song will be fresh, every scene will be new, and this show will be different because it will be improvised using suggestions from the audience.
