Sheriff: Vote no on 1

Dear editor, Nov. 6 will find the citizens of this state facing the decision of whether to adopt proposed Issue 1 as an amendment to the Ohio Constitution. At the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office, we are mindful of and wish to share with the citizens of Wyandot County our concerns about some of the dangers Issue 1 presents to our community and the state of Ohio.

Carey to put renewal tax levy on ballot

CAREY — During their meeting on Monday, the Carey Exempted Village School District Board of Education approved a resolution to renew the levy of an annual income tax expiring at the end of 2019 for school district purposes. With the passing of the resolution, the 1 percent, five-year income tax levy will be placed on the ballot for voters in the upcoming general election on Nov. 6.

Wynford passes new school initiative

BUCYRUS — Wynford Local Schools will be getting a new high school and junior high building after the passage of a 4.95-mill levy with an additional 1 mill for permanent improvement attached to that. Unofficially, the overall vote was 1,088 (56.4 percent) in favor of the levy, with 940 against.
