The Upper Sandusky Fire Department will host its annual Independence Day chicken barbecue from 4-6 p.m. July 4. Tickets are $8 per meal, which includes come with chicken, potato salad, roll, applesauce and water. For tickets, contact any firefighter or call the USFD at 419-294-3322.

The Friends of the Upper Sandusky Community Library will host a book sale from Aug. 5-8. Donations of used books, music and movies now are being accepted at the library.

TOLEDO — The American Red Cross has announced several upcoming blood drives for Wyandot County in the days surrounding the Independence Day holiday.

HARPSTER — The public is invited to attend the 52nd Independence Day observance at 12 p.m. July 4 at John Green Cemetery near Harpster. Elizabeth Needles will read the Declaration of Independence.
