TIFFIN — Firelands Regional Medical Center recently announced Dr. Michelle Clinger, a licensed professional clinical counselor, as the new site director for Firelands Counseling and Recovery Services of Seneca and Wyandot counties.

USCL to host free clothing swap

The Upper Sandusky Community Library’s free clothing swap will return to the library in September. The twice-yearly event is set up like a garage sale, except it is free to participate, according to a press release from the USCL.

Annual balloon release slated

Parents and families who have had children die are invited to a memorial balloon release from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Harrison Smith Park. Sponsored by The Compassionate Friends of Wyandot County, the annual balloon release will take place at the small red shelter house behind the pond at the park.

Hensel family reunites

HARPSTER — The Orlando Hensel family recently gathered in the basement of Harpster United Methodist Church with 48 members in attendance. Clarence Hensel lead the group in prayer.

CASA seeks volunteers

Court Appointed Special Advocates of Seneca, Sandusky and Wyandot Counties is accepting applications for volunteers in Wyandot County. CASA volunteers are appointed by juvenile court judges to represent the best interest of abused and neglected children in court.

Tracers to meet Mon.

The Wyandot County Tracers chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Upper Sandusky Community Library. The guest speaker for the meeting is Ted Reinhart, who will share a history of Carey. The meeting is open to the public.

Trains to depart with area youth

BUCYRUS — The Train Buffs of Crawford County will operate a miniature riding train again for youth during the Bucyrus Bratwurst Festival, which runs Thursday to Aug. 20. Run times will be from 6 p.m. to dark Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m. to dark Aug. 20.

Parade entries being accepted

MARION — The deadline to enter the Marion Popcorn Festival Popcorn parade is Monday. Parade director Tracy Snare said the deadline is important to adhere to as it provides the necessary time needed to design a large parade and get the lineup information mailed back out to participants.
