Humane Society: January 3, 2017

The following report was prepared and submitted by the Wyandot County Humane Society on Dec. 29 and is correct as of that date: Pets reported as missing since the previous report that have not been found include a white and gray male cat and a black and tan female beagle.

Support group to continue

The Wyandot County area support group for caregivers of those with memory loss due to Alzheimer’s disease or other causes will continue to meet through 2017 on the third Tuesday of each month, beginning at noon Jan. 17 at Fairhaven Community, 850 Marseilles Ave.

Forest library to host collection for animals

FOREST — In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the Forest-Jackson Public Library will accept donations through the month of January for the Wyandot County Humane Society. Needed items include wet and dry pet food, new or used sheets, blankets and towels, household cleaning supplies including paper towels, Windex and Lysol wipes and other general pet supplies. Warpole OES to meet

Warpole Chapter No. 366 Order of the Eastern Star will meet Thursday. Soup and sandwiches will be served at 6 p.m., followed by a business meeting starting at 7:30 p.m. that will include pro-tem initiation. For information, call Carol Grubel at 419-294-8989.

Home energy funds still available

The Home Energy Assistance Program Winter Crisis Program began Nov. 1 and is to continue through March 31 or as long as funds remain available. The Winter Crisis Program was created to provide financial assistance, one time per heating season, to income eligible households who are threatened with disconnection of their heating source, have service already disconnected, need to establish new service or transfer service or have less than a 25 percent supply of bulk fuel.
