BLUFFTON — Bluffton Hospital, a division of Blanchard Valley Health System, has been recognized by The Chartis Center of Rural Health and the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health for overall excellence in quality and patient perspectives for the fourth time, reflecting top quartile performance among all rural hospitals in the nation.

Red Cross has urgent need for blood

FINDLAY — The American Red Cross has an urgent need for blood and platelet donors to give now to ensure blood is available for medical treatments and emergencies during the holiday season. Blood and platelet donations often decline during the holidays. Regular donors are busy with holiday activities, and travel and severe winter weather may cause blood drive cancellations.

Cash Dash to be held Sunday in Forest

FOREST — There’s something new – and potentially profitable — at this year’s Charlie Brown Christmas in Forest. Community First Bank N.A. is sponsoring a Cash Dash in which three lucky people will have a chance to grab as much as $200 in the CFB Cash Machine on Sunday. Initial entries are free, and donations are accepted for additional entries.

Wildwood Chapel event set Sunday

Wildwood Chapel will host a Kick off To Christmas event from 5-7 p.m. Sunday. The evening will include a hot chocolate bar, cookies, outdoor tree lighting and the reading of the Christmas story followed by a concert at 6 p.m. with the Morse Family singers.

Christmas at Kingwood beginning

MANSFIELD — Kingwood Center Gardens has announced the return of Christmas at Kingwood, the spectacular indoor and outdoor holiday experience. Each night, visitors will enjoy magical Christmas lights and decorations from the decked rooms of Kingwood Hall, the Tree Walk featuring trees and wreaths by local businesses, a special Greenhouse display and the outdoor Trail of Lights.
