String quartet to play at Bucyrus Elementary

BUCYRUS — Great seats are still available for the Dallas String Quartet’s performance at 7 p.m. April 8 at the Bucyrus Elementary School Auditorium, 245 Woodlawn Ave., Bucyrus. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Comprised of composer and violinist Ion Zanca, violinists Eleanor Dunbar and Melissa Priller, bassist Young Heo, guitarist Anthony Plant and percussionist/drummer Efren Guzman, DSQ takes you on a journey to the nexus of classical music and modern pop where artists like Beethoven and Bono collide.

BEXLEY — Capital University announced Zoe Garber, of Upper Sandusky, was named to the President’s List for the fall 2018 semester. Capital has three lists denoting academic distinction among full-time, degree-seeking students: The President’s List, Provost’s List, and Dean’s List. The President’s List indicates the highest level of academic distinction.

Meeting minutes: March 14, 2019

The American Legion Auxiliary Post 225 meeting was recently called to order by President Sharon Huffman. Rita Logsdon opened the meeting with The Lord’s Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Secretary Sandy Hemmerly read the minutes from the previous meeting and Chris Gilland gave the treasurers report.

The Wyandot County Council on Aging held an Irish Mardi Gras event at the Senior Depot in Carey Monday afternoon. Vicki Charlton of the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center made an Irish stew and dessert for all attendees.

Lions hosting pancake breakfast Sunday

MOUNT BLANCHARD — The Riverdale Community Pancake Breakfast is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday in the Riverdale High School cafeteria. Hosted by the Riverdale Community Lion’s Club, the annual pancake and sausage breakfast raises money for Riverdale school projects.

Mentoring director to speak at Men’s Breakfast

BUCYRUS — Coach Greg Gillum, director of student mentoring for Columbus City Schools, is the guest speaker for the Men’s Breakfast at 7 a.m. March 13 in the Bucyrus Community Hospital cafeteria. Gillum spent 11 years as recruiting coordinator and was director of player personnel and director of football operations at Ohio State University. He also coached 12 years on the high school level.

Cancer fundraiser to be held in Tiffin
