Crawford Park District holding events next week

CRESTLINE — The Crawford County Parks District recently announced upcoming events. Feeding Day is 2 p.m. Sunday at Lowe-Volk Park, 2401 Ohio 598. Will it be fruit, vegetables, leafy greens, shrimp, worms or mice? What’s on the menu for the animals in the Nature Center? The Crawford Park District invites families to stop out to find out who eats what and help Lisa feed some of the animals.

Buckeye Girl’s State

The American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 225 meeting was recently called to order, Aug. 5, by President Sharon Huffman at Fairhaven for the annual potluck and appreciation to the Girl’s State representatives. Chaplain Rita Logsdon was unable to be there, so Huffman opened the meeting and potluck with the Lord’s Prayer.

Ohio Chief Justice O’Conner to attend drug court documentary in Marion today

MARION — A screening of the documentary “Second Chances: One Year in Ohio’s Drug Courts” is 6 p.m. today, at the Marion Palace Theatre and will feature opening remarks by Chief Justice Maureen O’Connor. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Follow local court participants of Marion Municipal Court’s drug treatment docket on their journey through recovery in this free documentary showing, which is open to the public.

Pets reported as missing since the last report that have not been found include An older black lab mix male dog, a black female chow, a black and white long hair cat, a white neutered male great pyrenees, a rottweiler, a black lop eared rabbit, a green eyed tabby cat, a neutered male gray cat, a tan pit bull lab mix, a brown female cocker spaniel, a female doberman, a yellow neutered male cat, a male white English bulldog and a female brown English bulldog.
