Dear editor, I saw in the paper about the WHOW (Women Helping Other Women) event being hosted at White Shutter Winery in regards to human sex trafficking. This is a huge deal. Though we live in a rural community, this does not exempt Wyandot County from the dangers, or the severity of the on-going and heightening threat that sex trafficking entails.

Dear editor, Since we still have freedom to think for ourselves, for now at least!

Dear editor, As we approach another Memorial Day, we should reflect on what Memorial Day really means to us and to all Wyandot County service members who couldn’t be here this weekend to celebrate. It is a time to remember our service members who gave their all, so we could have our freedom.

Recently I addressed the Upper Sandusky Service Committee about the installation of new sidewalks and repairing present sidewalks in Upper Sandusky. I inquired how the new sidewalks that are being installed along East Wyandot Avenue and the Brookview locations were decided.

I read with amusement the letter to the editor last week by Bill Clinger concerning county commissioner Ron Metzger. According to Clinger, Metzger is a fine man, a hard worker and a faithful husband and father.

The separation of parents from children at our southern border remains one of the most shocking events of the year. Teenagers went to tent cities, while younger kids were put in dog kennels, then sent to distant foster homes.
