Seneca East has done plenty of winning this season, but not until Friday night did the Tigers have a marquee win. The Tigers used a fourth-quarter run to pull ahead and then hold off Upper Sandusky, 45-41, in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference girls basketball game.

VANLUE — For the second straight week, the Riverdale boys basketball team used a huge quarter to propel itself to victory. The Falcons began the fourth quarter on a 19-0 run Friday at Vanlue High School to erase a 7-point deficit and defeat Vanlue comfortably 76-64.

It may not have been a 43-point victory this time, but the outcome wasn’t ever in doubt. The Upper Sandusky boys basketball team buried 13 3-pointers and forced 14 turnovers on the way to an 85-64 victory over Bellevue Thursday at Upper Sandusky.

SYCAMORE — With little trouble, Upper Sandusky is on to the Division III Region 18 semifinals of the OHSAA team dual wrestling tournament. Mohawk just missed joining the Rams.

Upper Sandusky residents have a new place to get their hair cut. The Wyandot Chamber of Commerce celebrated the opening of a new business, the Hair Mechanyc, with a ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday morning at 100 S. Warpole St.

A local business celebrated its 20-year anniversary this past Thursday. Dawn Patterson opened Headlines Salon and Spa on Jan. 18, 1998, at 120 E. Walker St., Upper Sandusky, and she’s remained in the same location ever since, expanding in size about three years after opening.

Judy Green portrayed author Laura Ingalls Wilder in a program Monday evening at the Dorcas Carey Public Library. Green performed in costume and brought the Little House on the Prairie stories to life with storytelling, photos and artifacts related to the books.

NEW WASHINGTON — Upper Sandusky could not overcome a slow start in a 50-43 loss to Buckeye Central on Tuesday night that likely ended the Rams’ hopes of repeating as Northern 10 Athletic Conference girls basketball champions.

CAREY — Carey limited Wynford to a pair of 2-point field goals the entire game in a 57-17 victory Tuesday night in Northern 10 Athletic Conference girls basketball play. The Royals (3-12, 2-9 N10) were just 2 of 17 on 2-pointers and 5 of 29 from the field overall with 24 turnovers.
