Ag training program seeking applicants

COLUMBUS — The leadership and advocacy development program, AgriPOWER, is now accepting applications for participation. The Ohio Farm Bureau Federation’s AgriPOWER Class IX will include 20 individuals who are committed to improving their understanding of important issues and are willing to develop skills to become effective advocates for the farm and food community.

Bureau to be at power show

COLUMBUS — Hi-tech farming will be on display in the interactive Ohio Farm Bureau exhibit at Power Show Ohio, Jan. 26 - 28 at the Ohio Expo Center, home of the Ohio State Fair, in Columbus. Farmers will learn about technologies to enhance productivity, and consumers will learn how farmers are adopting technology to produce affordable food while protecting the environment.

Free ODNR coyote hunting and trapping workshop set to take place in Findlay

FINDLAY — Sportsmen and women interested in pursuing coyotes are invited to attend a free informational workshop provided by Ohio Department of Natural Resources on Jan. 31 in Findlay. Wildlife experts will cover basic topics, such as life history, calling techniques including call types and setups, appropriate firearms and ammunition, trapping sets, scouting and the laws associated with pursuing coyotes.

OSU to offer safety course

KENTON — A tractor safety and machinery operation certification course for youth has been scheduled for Wednesday evenings from Feb. 1 through March 8 through the Ohio State University Extension. The six sessions will be from 6-9 p.m. in the OSU Extension office Spark Lab, 1021 W. Lima. St., Kenton.
