Ohio hunters check more than 21,000 wild turkeys COLUMBUS — Wyandot County turkey hunters tagged 108 turkeys during the spring turkey season this May, an increase from the 103 harvested in 2016. Ohio hunters checked a total of 21,015 wild turkeys during the combined 2017 spring wild turkey south zone hunting season, northeast zone hunting season, and the youth wild turkey hunting season, April 22 through May 28, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
