FSA has 2 candidates for LAA 2 committee

Wade Vaughn and Gary Walter have been nominated in Local Administrative Area 2 in Wyandot County to serve as a committee member. LAA 2 consists of Crane, Eden, Richland and Salem townships. Ballots were mailed Monday and must be returned to the Wyandot County FSA Office by Dec. 4.

Forestry clinic slated Saturday

The Wyandot Soil and Water Conservation District is sponsoring a forestry clinic from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the county woodlot next to Angeline School. This clinic will include presentations on timber stand improvements, best management practices for woodlots, invasive species control and harvest contract do’s and don’ts.

Acreage report deadline Nov. 15

Wyandot County producers are reminded that the acreage reporting deadline for perennial forage crop (examples are grass hay, alfalfa, clover or pasture) is Nov. 15 for crop year 2018 and subsequent years. Also, producers are reminded that the acreage reporting date for fall seeded crops is Dec. 15.

FFA students headed to nationals

Wyandot County is sending not one, but two representatives to compete at the national FFA convention this week in Indianapolis. Carley Coppler of Carey won the state in prepared public speaking while Hannah Ziegler of Upper Sandusky won the Ohio job interview. Both are leaving today after school to Indianapolis.
