The Star Players’ musical production of “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” opens April 29 and runs for one weekend only. The show follows six quirky adolescents who have all gathered to compete in the county’s spelling bee for a chance to move on to the national spelling bee.

TIFFIN — The cast and crew for the Ritz Theatre’s production of “Bad Seed” has been announced. The cast includes (from Tiffin unless noted) Kennedy Lachner as Rhoda Penmark; Cory Lachner as Col. Kenneth Penmard; Elecia Delgado as Christine Penmark; Katharyn Buckinghamm, of McComb, as Monica Breedlove; Jim Cook, of Sycamore, as Emery Wages; Bob Derby, of Bloomville, as Leray; Sandy Kimmel as Miss Fern; Jennifer Paynes as Mrs. Daigle; and Norm Gibrat, of Fostoria, as Richard Bravo.

TIFFIN — The Texas Tenors will perform at the Ritz Theatre, 30 S. Washington St., Tiffin, at 7:30 p.m. Friday. With their Emmy Award winning PBS special now airing across the country, and Billboard chart-topping albums, The Texas Tenors are one of America's favorite new tenors.

Registration for The Star Players’ Star Kids Theatre Workshop for the 2016 season is 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at The Star Theatre.

BUCYRUS — The Crawford Theatre Company will present the classic musical comedy, “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” at 8 p.m. today, Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bucyrus Elks, 309 E. Mansfield St., Bucyrus.

FINDLAY — The Marathon Center for the Performing Arts will present Chicago, one of the longest running and best-selling rock bands of all time, to close its inaugural season at 4 p.m. May 22.
