MARION — Marion Palace Theatre Executive Director Bev Ford has announced auditions will be held for two upcoming Palace Productions, “Willy Wonka Jr.” and “The Drowsy Chaperone.” Character breakdowns for each musical can be found on the Palace Theatre website at www.marionpalace.org.

The Star Players Inc. invites interested singers, dancers and actors to open auditions for its autumn musical production, “Shrek the Musical,” from 6-8 p.m. July 31 and Aug. 1 at The Star Theatre, 121 W. Wyandot Ave., Upper Sandusky.

TIFFIN — The Ritz Players will conclude its production of “Monty Python’s Spamalot” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at The Ritz Theatre, 30 S. Washington St., Tiffin.

TIFFIN — The Tiffin Gospel Music Association is presenting many upcoming events. Gospel Singing at the Gazebo will be held at noon this Saturday and Aug. 19 at 141 E. Findlay St., Carey, and Saturday’s program features Set Apart, Ed Ewing, Chris Baldwin, Jimmy Bloomfield and Donna Sue. New Presence Gospel, Purpose Driven and Paula Barron will perform Aug. 19. Guests should bring lawnchairs.

The musical “Annie” takes audiences back to the 1930s and the height of the Franklin D. Roosevelt presidency, but for some theater patrons, the show brings back memories of the 1980s.

“Annie” is heading into its final weekend of performances at the Star Theatre in downtown Upper Sandusky. The musical tells the story of little orphan Annie and her escape from Miss Hannigan and life in an orphanage to finding love and a forever family with Daddy Warbucks and Grace Farrell.

First Baptist Church of Upper Sandusky, 590 Houpt Drive, will host its Fireworks Festival from 6-9 p.m. Saturday. The free festival includes carnival games, face painting and an inflated obstacle course.

BUCYRUS — The Crawford Theatre Company will present the Andrew Lloyd Weber musical “CATS” at 8 p.m. July 7 and 8 and 2 p.m. July 9 at the new Crawford Theatre located at MB Subculture, 1715 Marion Road in Bucyrus. The location is the former Capital Cinemas at the Southern Lights Shopping Center.

MARION — “The Wizard of Oz,” complete with special effects, stunning choreography and an Oscar-winning score, will kick off the Marion Palace Theatre’s season with shows at 7:30 p.m. July 8, 14 and 15 and 2 p.m. July 9 and 16. Under the direction of Clare Cooke, “The Wizard of Oz” was staged in 2007, drawing near sellout crowds.

Wyanstock 2017 will rock the Wyandot County Fairgrounds on July 1. This is the fourth year for the 12-hour music festival put on by Wyandot County Young Professionals. The schedule is jam-packed with bands, food, drinks, vendors selling arts and wares, a cornhole tournament and a meat smoking competition from noon to midnight. Camping sites are available June 30 and July 1.
