RTTF fall play starts Friday

TIFFIN — The Ritz Teen Thespian Guild will present “Alice in Wonderland” at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at The Ritz Theatre, 30 S. Washington St., Tiffin. In this endearing version of Lewis Carroll’s memorable story, Alice is cautioned by the White Rabbit to take good care of the Queen’s tarts, which are to be served shortly at the croquet match.

‘Shrek the Musical’ to open Friday at The Star Theatre

The Star Theatre will present the awarding winning Broadway musical comedy “Shrek The Musical” on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and Oct. 14 and 15. Curtains open for the Friday, Saturday and Oct. 14 performances at 7 p.m. The Sunday and Oct. 15 performances are slated for 2 p.m. Because of high demand for tickets, the Star Players Inc. board recently added a sixth show at 2 p.m. Oct. 14.

Monster Mash dance party set at Palace

MARION — The Marion Palace Theatre is offering a family-friendly Halloween celebration, a Monster Mash dance party, from 5-7 p.m. Oct. 28 in the theatre’s May Pavilion. Those in attendance can hit the dance floor with music by DJ Dennis Cametti, play carnival games and create a take-home craft.

Stallone film seeks extras

MANSFIELD (AP) — A casting agency is seeking extras for a movie starring Sylvester Stallone that will be filmed at the Ohio State Reformatory, the former prison in Mansfield where “The Shawshank Redemption” was filmed.
