They are creepy and a little bit kooky, the Addams family. Come be part of the Addam’s family at the Star Theatre. Tryouts for America’s favorite comedic macabre, “The Addams Family the Musical,” are 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday for girls high school age and up and boys 10 and up.

MARION — The Marion Palace Theatre owners opened its doors to an anxious crowd of over 3,200. Those in attendance became the first to experience the lavish interior and a stage filled with exciting entertainment.

SYCAMORE — Clark’s Yard Sing and Potluck is Friday at 434 Haines Road, Sycamore. Dinner begins at 5 p.m. with singing at 6 p.m.

KIRBY — The annual Transfiguration of the Lord St. Mary’s/Kirby Festival will take place from 2 p.m. to midnight Saturday and 2-10 p.m. Sunday in Kirby. Saturday’s theme is “Adult Night Out.” The Kirby off-road 5K will begin at 9 a.m., taking runners into the country through trails in the woods of a parishioner and back, organizer Curt Frey said. Registration begins at 8 a.m. Registration forms are available on Facebook and anyone with questions is asked to call 419-957-5702.

TIFFIN — The Ritz Players will perform “The Addams Family — A New Musical” at 7:30 p.m. July 13, 14 and 21 and 2 p.m. July 22 at The Ritz Theatre, 30 S. Washington St., Tiffin.

Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” might be a story about a princess looking for her prince, but it’s also a story about love and family. The Star Theatre’s current production is full of family love. The cast features many real life family groups enjoying a shared interest in theater and entertaining.

First Baptist Church of Upper Sandusky, located at 590 Houpt Drive, will be holding the First Baptist Fireworks Festival from 6-9 p.m. July 6. The festival is free and includes carnival games, face painting and bounce houses.

MARION — The Marion Popcorn Festival has booths available in the craft, community and commercial area on Oak Street from Sept. 6-8. Craft and community booths are $150 for a 10-by-10 space.

MARION — Entering its 20th year, Set the Stage theater camps have been a part of the Marion Palace Theatre’s programming and a summertime tradition for many aspiring thespians of all skill levels. This summer, the popular performing arts camp returns offering students age 6-14 an all-day, weeklong theater experience.
